As a practicing architect, what is your biggest challenge?
“Finding clients that share the same core values as me.”
“The most difficult thing is getting your name out and landing that first job. Also, getting people to understand that your time is worth money. People tend to think architects should provide conceptual services for free.”
“Negotiating! getting the fees we deserve would be at the top of the list.”
“Cash flow - running the financial end of the business. The weekly upkeep of invoicing, bills, etc..these are critical to health of a firm.”
“Staying current with technology, education, materials, and design. So much is evolving so quickly, it is difficult to keep up.”
“Finding profitable projects. Always the number one priority. Nothing cool happens until someone sells a project.”
